Intelligent AFS (Adaptive Front-Lighting System)
Intelligent AFS provides optimum distribution of light from the headlamps based on the turning angle of the tires and vehicle speed. The system works in conjunction with an auto-leveling function to provide excellent visibility.
Eleven Airbags
The LS features dual-stage SRS airbags (Front seats), SRS knee airbags (Front seats), SRS side airbags (Front and outboard rear seats), and SRS curtain shield airbags (Front and rear door windows). An SRS Seat Cushion Airbag is available on long body models.
Lexus Night View
To help support safe driving at night and in dark conditions when the headlamps are on, a near infra-red camera captures the forward field of view and shows the images on the 12.3-inch wide display.
LKA (Lane Keeping Assist)
LKA combines with the Dynamic Radar Cruise Control to provide a light steering force if the car deviates towards the lane markings. If the system judges the car is about to cross the lane markings, it alerts the driver with a buzzer and on the multi-information display.
AL-TPWS (Auto Location-Tire Pressure Warning System)
AL-TPWS contributes to tire life and fuel efficiency by displaying the pressure of each tire in the multi-information display. When low tire pressure is detected, the display shows the air pressure value of the affected tire in amber.
Blind Spot Monitor System
Radar devices mounted in the rear bumper detect vehicles in adjacent lanes that are not visible in the door mirrors. The moment a vehicle enters this blind spot, the driver is warned by an LED indicator in the relevant door mirror.
AHS (Adaptive High-Beam System)
When AHS detects the lights of an oncoming vehicle or the tail lights of a car in front, it automatically controls switching of the headlamps from high beam to low beam and adjusts the illumination range in response to the movement of the detected vehicle, enhancing nighttime driving by enabling more frequent use of the high beams.
Pre-Crash Safety System
It integrates a precision obstacle detection system that uses millimeter-wave radar, stereo cameras and near infra-red projectors to constantly monitor conditions in front of the vehicle, to anticipate and help avoid accidents. A driver monitor system helps promote caution even when the driver is not facing forward.
