Outstanding V8 Power
The LX570 luxury SUV is powered by the largest engine ever fitted to a Lexus. Equiped with a 5.7 Liter Engine, delivering 362HP of output and 54.0kg-m of torque, it works seamlessly with a very flexible 6-speed automatic transmission with optional paddle shift switches for both dynamic and smooth gear changes. It will accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 7.8 seconds up to a top speed of 220km/h (electronically limited). With its V8 cylinder block die-cast in lightweight yet strong aluminum alloy, it is also an engine that will last – providing great reliability and durability. During development, Lexus engineers tested the drivetrain for 1.3 million kilometers – the equivalent of driving 32 times around the globe.
Peerless Engineering
The LX570 development program focused on ensuring drivers can travel on or off-road with equal composure. This requires an exceptionally strong chassis, but not at the expense of comfort and refinement. The solution is a unique high-tensile steel chassis frame with the strength to resist the twisting forces of uneven terrain. The rigidity of the chassis lets you take on rough terrain, ford rivers and climb mountainsides with ease. In fact the LX570 was test-driven in some of the most challenging conditions that the world could offer.
Unstoppable 4WD Performance
The LX570 is one of most capable 4WD vehicles ever built, thanks in part to its advanced traction, braking and suspension systems. But it is not just about toughness and durability. Inside you’ll enjoy a quiet and smooth ride, the product of a chassis frame designed to separate the suspension from the bodyshell, to help prevent noise and vibration entering the cabin. Full-time four-wheel drive gives you confidence on slippery surfaces, while a rugged TORSEN LSD (Limited Slip Differential) automatically directs power to the wheels that need it most. Shift into low range and 4-Wheel AHC (Active Height Control) automatically raises the body by approximately 75mm to give more ground clearance. While negotiating boulders and deep ruts, 5-speed Crawl Control constantly adjusts the torque and brakes on each wheel independently, so you can concentrate on steering. This is made considerably easier by Off-road Turn Assist, which lets you make tight turns in challenging conditions.
Multi-Terrain Select and Monitor
The LX570 is fitted with advanced off-road technologies, including Multi-terrain ABS (Anti-lock Brake System) and Crawl Control. For peerless command of wilderness conditions, Multi-terrain Select (Optional) adjusts multiple vehicle systems to negotiate the terrain selected: Mud & Sand, Loose Rock, Mogul, Rock & Dirt or Rock. At low speeds, Crawl Control intelligently applies throttle and braking operations, optimized by Multi-terrain ABS. This enables the driver to focus fully on steering in demanding off-road conditions. Miniature cameras are strategically positioned in the radiator grille, door mirrors, and back door. These relay up to six live images to the Multi-terrain Monitor, providing a near 360° view of the area around the vehicle, to help the driver spot rocks, ruts, crevices and sheer drops that would otherwise be obscured from view.
