LX Safety Passive Safety - Eight 3-Point Seatbelts
Each seat is fitted with a 3-point seatbelt. For the third row center seat, this required an innovative design solution with the belt retracting fully into the roof lining when not in use.

The front seats incorporate a flexible WIL concept. Active Headrest in the front seats also moves up and forward almost instantly in the event of a rear impact to further help reduce the risk of neck injury.
In developing the LX570, Lexus engineers set out to enhance the impact absorption rate, normally a contradictory characteristic of strength and rigidity. They achieved this by implementing an advanced concept that enables the LX570 to absorb and disperse the energy of a 5.0-ton impact.
To help protect all occupants, the LX570 is fitted with ten SRS (Supplemental Restraint System) airbags. In addition to the dual-stage SRS driver airbag and dual-stage SRS front passenger airbag, there are SRS knee and SRS side airbags on the front seats. Outboard second row seat passengers have SRS side airbags, while SRS curtain shield airbags also contribute to the comprehensive protection.
Immense strength and exceptional rigidity are essential to outstanding off-road performance. The LX570 uses high-tensile steel extensively, especially in the frame area. This ultra-strong construction not only benefits off-road performance, but also helps to make the LX570 a safe and robust vehicle.
A leading-edge technology contributing to both off- and on-road performance, AVS adjusts vehicle height as appropriate. On-road, AVS reduces ride height to enhance aerodynamic performance. At rest it smoothly lowers approximately 150mm to ease entry and exit.
VSC helps prevent the loss of vehicle control, particularly when cornering quickly or at the onset of a skid. Selective application of the brakes and/or reducing power helps to ensure stability and reduce vehicle speed.
A-TRC helps enhance the ability to grip the road, especially when starting off or accelerating on uneven or slippery surfaces. Corrective measures are applied the moment the risk of wheel spin is detected, to help maintain traction.
When starting off on a slope, Hill-start Assist Control automatically maintains brake pressure to help prevent the LX570 from slipping backwards. It works both on-road and off-road to help reduce driver fatigue.
ABS with EBD helps to ensure optimum braking force is applied to each wheel. The Brake Assist system comes into action during emergency braking and increases braking force automatically if required.
