The LX570 development program focused on ensuring drivers can travel on or off-road with equal composure. This requires an exceptionally strong chassis, but not at the expense of comfort and refinement. The solution is a unique high-tensile steel chassis frame with the strength to resist the twisting forces of uneven terrain. The rigidity of the chassis lets you take on rough terrain, ford rivers and climb mountainsides with ease. In fact the LX570 was test-driven in some of the most challenging conditions that the world could offer.

LX_ Performance Outstanding V8 Power

The LX570 luxury SUV is powered by the largest engine ever fitted to a Lexus. Equiped with a 5.7 Liter Engine, delivering 362HP of output and 54.0kg-m of torque, it works seamlessly with a very flexible 6-speed automatic transmission with optional paddle shift switches for both dynamic and smooth gear changes. It will accelerate from 0 to 100km/h in 7.8 seconds up to a top speed of 220km/h (electronically limited). With its V8 cylinder block die-cast in lightweight yet strong aluminum alloy, it is also an engine that will last – providing great reliability and durability.

The engine mounts also absorb a significant amount of vibration. Because SUV engines can also create substantial noise, Lexus engineers focused on minimizing friction and enhancing the rotational balance of the engine, as well as using an insulated engine cover to further mute extraneous sound.

RX_Hybrid Towards a high-performance SUV hybrid system

Combining with the 3.5-liter V6 engine as the RX450h’s principal power source is a high output front motor with high voltage and high revolutions. The front unit consisting of this front motor, together with a generator, power split device, reduction gear and other components, works as a transmission. The compact, high-output front motor is realized by a reduction gear that amplifies the motor’s torque, helping to attain powerful driving and high fuel economy.
