Dynamic V6 Power

Boosting Dynamic Performance
If you are in a dynamic mood, select Sport S/Sport S+ Modes and the GSimmediately retunes powertrain and handling characteristics for sports driving.Sport S Mode revises throttle mapping and transmission shifting priorities toharness the sports capabilities of the powertrain. Sport S+ Mode, available on GSmodels equipped with AVS (Adaptive Variable Suspension system), enhanceshandling characteristics with a sports setting of the AVS, EPS (Electric PowerSteering) and VDIM (Vehicle Dynamics Integrated Management), together withthe powertrain settings of Sport S Mode. Switching to Sport S/Sport S+ Modesilluminates the instrumentation in a vibrant red.
Refined Aerodynamics
The GS has been significantly reengineered to deliver a very engaging andpleasurable drive. In addition to enhancing the torsional rigidity of the bodyshell,Lexus developed an airflow management concept called ‘aerodynamic damping’.Inspired by the Lexus LFA V10 supercar, it moves airflow close to the vehiclebody to enhance handling, smoothes the flow in and around the wheel arches,and reduces air pressure within the arch itself. The AVS (Adaptive Variable Suspensionsystem) was also optimized, with two damper settings to enable drivers tofine-tune the ride characteristics: ‘Normal’ mode for everyday driving comfort; and‘Sport S+’ mode for excellent body control and precise response to steering input.
Lexus Dynamic Handling System
LDH elevates driving performance to a new dimension. Together with EPS (Electric Power Steering), VGRS(Variable Gear Ratio Steering) and DRS (Dynamic Rear Steering) control all four wheels independently. At low tomedium speeds, the front and rear wheels turn at slightly opposing angles. This significantly reduces the turning radius for excellent maneuverability at low speeds, while sharpening the steering feel when driving along winding countryroads. At higher speeds, the system calculates the optimum vehicle angle from vehicle speed and steering inputs, andapplies front and rear steering control, to give a stable and nimble feeling. This contributes to composed lanechanging and agile cornering at high speeds.

Adaptive Variable Suspension System
The damping force at all four wheels is intelligentlycontrolled by AVS in response to road surfaceconditions and driver input. This not only contributes toexcellent ride comfort, but also enhances handlingstability and road holding.
Drive Mode Select
You can tune the performance of the GS to suit yourdriving mood. Eco Mode helps reduce emissions andfuel consumption while you drive in a relaxed manner.Sport S Mode adjusts the powertrain for more responsivedriving, while Sport S+ Mode also controls the chassisand EPS for an exceptionally engaging drive.
